December 27th meeting

Once again Larry has assigned me the task of memorializing out Friday AM Meeting, this time for Friday December 27, 2007.

The most prominent substantive subject discussed this AM was the assassination of former Pakistani prime minister Bhutto.

The general feeling around the table was that this was a good example of al queda shooting itself in the foot. If ever we are to alert the American public to the dangers of the Islamist fundamentalists., this event should do that. It was also generally felt that this event would strengthen the presidential candidacies of Hillary Clinton and John McCain.

Some felt that Pakistan President Musharraf would have to mount some kind of offensive against the al queda fighters in the northwestern mountains of Pakistan. Perhaps- - we will just have to wait and see about that.

The bulk of our session was devoted to Larry White explaining this web site to everyone and trying to coach us on how to get to it and how to create a blog and how to make a comment. Give us a day or two and we will see if his efforts bear fruit.

1. Everyone should create one Blog and one Comment. Sign the Blog and Comment so we know who "you" are. Call me if you need help.

2. While your in the Blog site back office - Add a book, a link - or even a poll question.

2. You can always create your blog or comment in Microsoft word and then cut/copy and paste to the blog/comment site.

3. In January 08 when the Military registry is up I will circle back and work with each on your eLink web identity for the home page. Use the handout to determine if you want a simple registration or you want to chronical your military/civilian career. I will work with each to insure you have the latest and best. In the meantime - gather and dust off your bio and pictures.

I make this comment only to follow Larry's orders.

First: I received Irv's comments on my e-mail address, but not on the blog site. Is this the way it is supposed to work., I don't think so.

Irv: Thanks for your addition to the "memorialization." This, I think, is the way this thing is supposed to work- - by that I mean that the original author simply cannot remember everything.

Larry: Question. I guess I do not remember what the "back office" is and how I would go about adding a book, link, or a poll question.

Maybe others have this same question.

The Back office is the users private area to manage their site. Access is via the Sign-on.

This opens up a user DASHBOARD that allows you to manage a Blogs.

In the top-center box look for "Manage" and you will see three links. [post][setting][Layouts] click Layouts and you will get a schematic that features all of the elements we have on our site. It allows us to [edit] or [add]each area (Lists, Books, Links, RSS Feeds, Polls....) When done view the site results. Have fun - easy to correct goofs. Larry
